We are proud to announce the 2 ½ ton M35A2 trucks from the US military. The "deuce and a half" trucks are tough and capable off road trucks, proven in military service over the decades. M35A2 trucks are available at slightly over half the cost of a Unimog, while offering a greater carrying capacity!
M35 series trucks have been manufactured for over 50 years, undergoing several revisions as the demands of the military directed the manufacturer to improve the design. Most of the trucks coming out of military service are the M35A2, as over a quarter million of them were produced.
The M35A2 is a rugged and basic standard transport truck fitted with a 6 cylinder multi-fuel diesel engine. This means that the truck can be operated on a variety of fuels, oils and mixtures. In addition, the truck comes with a 5 speed transmission, a much needed improvement for allowing the truck to achieve road speeds. These attributes are signified by the A2 designation added to the basic family designation M35.
Driving the M35A2 are 3 live axles, to keep the truck moving like a tractor in poor traction conditions. A 2 speed transfer case provides gear reduction for increased power transmission for climbing and descent control. The M35A2 is equipped with air over hydraulic brakes. Everything is over built and built to withstand rough use. It is not a fragile vehicle!
According to your preference, you can order a truck with the following options: Hardtop, fold down bed sides, winch, power-take-off, power steering, turbo (two types), air shift transfer case, differential lockers, A/C, rear troop benches, hoops and canvas to cover the bed, larger tires on single rims, shortened bed with one rear axle removed, dump beds, custom paint and more.
Adventure Motors offers trucks that are ready for use. That means that all mechanical and electrical functions are checked and functioning. Your truck is truly ready to be put into service when you take delivery. Your purchase comes with our standard warrantee of 90 days on the major mechanicals. Additional coverage is available at additional cost, depending on your needs.
Parts are readily available new and used. You can buy tires, brake parts, brake friction materials and filters from local suppliers here in the country. In addition, we are supplying both normal order and emergency parts for our clients using air and sea freight systems from the US to Costa Rica. So you don't have to worry about keeping your truck in action!
In addition to the M35A2, there are a variety of heavier (5 ton) and purpose built trucks available, such as the dump truck, wrecker, tank truck, semi-tractor and box van. Additionally, the military uses 2 different trailers and diesel light trucks from GM that are specially modified for military use. License, titling and inscription of the truck are also easy. You have the option of performing the work yourself or we will do this for you. Some of our clients have expressed a need to register their trucks as either "agricultural equipment" or "special equipment". If your intended usage is for strictly off road purposes, this is a good opportunity to have the road use taxes waived.
